FRIDAY THE 40TH Part 7: Psych!
Bet you didn't see this coming! Okay, you probably did, because there've been six of these shows already. Today, Ian and Lee bust out their circular-saw-weed-whackers and take apart John Carl Buechler's Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood!
In this spoiler-filled analysis of the film lovingly (and derisively) called "Carrie vs. Jason", the Crystal Lake Killer is once again resurrected from his watery grave to stalk hapless party-goers in his sacred woods. This time, however, he crosses paths with a troubled psychic teen named Tina (Lar Park Lincoln), whose powers prove to be more than Jason bargained for.
The guys talk about why this represents a bizarre turn for the series; the contributions of Kane Hodder (who would become the first actor to portray Jason in more than one movie); and the surprising behind-the-scenes drama that informed some of the on-screen awkwardness between the film's leads.
Toward the end of the conversation, Ian and Lee share their thoughts on Scream Factory's Deluxe Edition Friday the 13th Blu-ray box set, which was announced this week and will debut in October.
