Late Screening: Alternative Facts (MEMENTO Review!)
Ian and Cole look back on the film that put Christopher Nolan on the map, 2000's Memento! The neo-noir thriller stars Guy Pearce as a man with short-term memory loss who's on the hunt for the person who murdered his wife. In thematic solidarity with the protagonist's condition, Nolan tells the story in reverse order, giving the audience a provocative look at how perception shapes reality (and vice versa).
This was a first-time watch for Cole (as are all the films in our monthly "Late Screening" series), and the guys have a lot of spoilerific fun linking Memento to other films they've discussed--as well as placing it in a modern context. And you'll want to grab some popcorn as Ian struggles to remember two of Christopher Nolan's most successful and influential movies!
