Welcome to Kicking the Seat!

Ian Simmons launched Kicking the Seat in 2009, one week after seeing Nora Ephron’s Julie & Julia. His wife proposed blogging as a healthier outlet for his anger than red-faced, twenty-minute tirades (Ian is no longer allowed to drive home from the movies).

The Kicking the Seat Podcast followed three years later and, despite its “undiscovered gem” status, Ian thoroughly enjoys hosting film critic discussions, creating themed shows, and interviewing such luminaries as Gaspar NoéRachel BrosnahanAmy Seimetz, and Richard Dreyfuss.

Ian is a member of the Chicago Film Critics Association. He also has a family, a day job, and conflicted feelings about referring to himself in the third person.

Jenna Loves Zombies!

UPDATE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED.  MS. JAMESON IS NOT FEELING WELL, BUT HOPES TO RESCHEDULE.

The Zombie Army Wants You!

Hey, Gang!  It's kind of late notice, but I want to invite everyone within the sound of my typing voice to a spectacularly cool event happening this Thursday (3/24) in Woodridge, IL:  The Hollywood Boulevard Cinema will host back-to-back screenings of Zombie Strippers at 7pm and 9pm!

Co-sponsored by Zombie Army and Chateau Grrr, this is sure to be an evening of chills, laughs, and flesh-eating goodness!

You can buy tickets at the box office or the theatre's Web site.

Sorry, I almost forgot one little detail:

Attendees will have a chance to meet adult film legend and Zombie Strippers star Jenna Jameson live, in-person!  That's right, she'll sign autographs and host a brief Q&A before each screening, and will be on-hand to take pictures with the fans, courtesy of our good friend Thom Kramer of Tinseltown Photo!

Kicking the Seat will also be in attendance.  Feel free to say "Hi", or yell at me for hating Rango, if that's your thing.  Hope to see you there!

(Hollywood Blvd's sister theatre, The Hollywood Palms in Naperville, will host similar screenings on Friday--also with Ms. Jameson, but minus the bus-load of zombie warriors!)

Back from Indy!

A Fortnight o' Fun!
